We are pleased to confirm that our next Keel Boat practical course starts on Monday evenings starting on the 25th July until the 8th August with the final session on the 14th August from 9-5pm. We will work our way through the basic skills:
- Developing wind awareness.
- Reaching – sailing across the wind.
- Stopping – lying-to.
- Controlling speed.
- Tacking – turning the front of the boat through the wind.
- Getting out of irons.
- Sailing upwind.
- Sailing downwind.
- Gybing – turning the back of the boat through the wind.
Further information can be obtain directly from the RYA website at the link below, but I have also attached details to the email.
